When people file bankruptcy, they need to understand that the law recognizes some debts as non-dischargeable. The following list includes creditors you will have to pay whether you file Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 personal bankruptcy:
Child Support and Spousal Support. Court-ordered payments for child and domestic support cannot be discharged. This includes all back child support.
Student Loans. Student loans are not dischargeable unless you are permanently disabled. The government will work with everyone on student loans you just need to communicate.

Court Ordered Criminal Restitution. Judgment against you in a personal injury lawsuit involving DUI resulting in injury or wrongful death will not be discharged. Neither will any fines for violating the law, including traffic tickets.
Fraud. Making cash advances or credit purchases before filing for bankruptcy may fall under this category. Also if a creditor file has filed and won a fraud case.
Unscheduled debts. This is why it is important to make sure all your debts are listed in your bankruptcy filing; you miss it you pay it.
